This wedding holds an extra special place in my heart and behind my lens. 🤍

Kate was my personal assistant almost 10 years ago, before relocating to the city with her American beau.

Over the years we shared many stories, so when she messaged to say she was getting married in Hawaii and wanted to fly me over to photograph her wedding, I was truly honoured to say yes.

And what a celebration it was!

A destination wedding in Hawaii is a little different from the beautiful weddings I capture every week here in the Whitsundays... still filled with incredible ocean views, of course, but also enriched by the warmth of Hawaiian culture and its wonderful people.

And the 8th of May did not disappoint!

Although a little windy, it was a picture-perfect day, finished with a sunset so spectacular that it lit up the sky like a painting.
